"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." - Winston Churchill

I am excited about the future. While as of this writing I do not yet know what our vote totals were, I know that we far exceeded the my original statement way back in August of, "Let's see if I can get 10 people to vote for me."

I sincerely thank all of you who took the time to write my name in. That took much more thought, effort, and time that simply clicking on the names on the ballot. Your extra time spent gave us a voice. Your voice has been heard more than ever because of your vote. Your vote is a vote for a change in the political movement of our state.

So what happens now? What is next?

I do plan on running for office again. This has been a life-changing experience for me and I have loved every minute of it. I will actually miss it. For the next year or so, I will be studying the issues, offices, platforms, and ideals that I think are important. After that time, I will make a decision for when/what to run for. I will actually appear on the ballot (no more fears of misspelling my name!). We will gain a much larger audience, capture many more votes, and be completely viable as a campaign.

What are the issues? Education? Vouchers? Social equality? Economy? What do you care about? I want you to tell me. During the coming weeks, this website will get a revamp, a new introduction, and (I hope) a much larger audience. I will be blogging more. I will even invite some of you to blog issues that are important to you. I want this site to be a definite common read for liberals in our state. To do that, I need to hear from you. Send me emails, tweets (start following me @JacobMaurerTN if you haven't yet!), Facebook messages..whatever is best for you. This can be as interactive as YOU want it to be. You took the time to vote for me, now take the time to contribute ideas. We will be heard. We will have an audience. We will have votes.

I will keep you updated as to how many votes we received as soon as I receive any news. I get the feeling it may be a few days (or even a week or so) before any official "write-in" numbers are known. I know there was a fairly high proportion of write-ins in Davidson County yesterday, but we do not yet know who the votes were cast for. Whatever result, we will not be disappointed!

Once again, thank you..thank you...thank you. There is MUCH more to come. Visit daily.
